Community Involvement

“Are you a citizen, or do you just live here?”

  • St. John's Anglican Church

    Deacon

I’m a deacon in the Anglican Church of Canada. What’s a deacon? Three distinct orders of ordained ministers have been characteristic of the Church: Bishops, priests and deacons. The special responsibility of deacons is to minister in Christ's name alongside those who suffer the most due to financial hardships, physical or mental health challenges, and all forms of marginalization. A deacon also has an important role in encouraging others in their ministries and in being present at the threshold between the Church and the community around it.

    Advisory Board Member

The vision of the St. John’s community is to be followers of Jesus who are united in the Gospel message that calls us to service and worship. Rooted in an Anglican tradition, we adapt to current needs. We offer hospitality to all. All who join us have a place. With God’s help, we collaborate, innovate and respectfully apply our resources to further God’s work in the world.
